Class Levels

Beginners classes are Hatha Yoga classes suitable for complete beginners.

General level classes are Hatha Yoga classes suitable for complete beginners and those with some experience of any style of yoga.

Class Style

We will practice a combination of physical yoga poses (asanas) focusing on alignment and flowing sequences while integrating yogic breathing techniques (pranayama). The aim of this class is to develop flexibility, stamina, strength and promote relaxation. Focus will be placed on correct alignment of the body in each asana to bring balance, strength and a sense of calm to the practice.

The last class of each month will be a restorative class where we will look to achieve deep relaxation through asanas (physical postures), pranayama (breath control techniques), yoga nidra (yogic sleep) and meditation.

Information

Please wear comfortable clothing. T-shirt, vest top, leggings, shorts or any dance or gym wear is suitable.

You may also wish to bring a warm top/ socks/ blanket for relaxation (savasana) at the end of each class.

No footwear will be required as we always practice yoga with bare feet.

If you have your own mat, please bring it with you. There will be some mat's available to hire at £1 per session or you can buy a mat at £12. It would be helpful if you can inform us in advance if you would like to hire or buy a mat to ensure we have the correct amount available on the day.

The teacher may advise you to use certain equipment during your practice to enhance your alignment or assist in healing from an injury. Some equipment will be available to borrow during each lesson, but it can also be purchased for your own personal use.

Please ensure you leave 2-3 hours after eating before coming to class.

Please inform the teacher of any medical conditions or injuries at the start of each class.

All classes are suitable for ages 16 – 116!

Postures will be taught and adjusted to suit each individuals needs, you do not need to be super fit or flexible to practice yoga.
