About me

In 1998 I discovered yoga for the first time. My mum had been attending a class with a wonderful Iyengar teacher and told me that I just had to come and try it for myself. I was a little apprehensive in attending my first class, imagining that I might be expected to perform all sorts of athletic gymnastics. As soon as I arrived in the class and met the teacher I was put at ease and I knew that I was about to embark on a very special journey.

In the 11 years that I have been studying yoga I have explored many different yoga disciplines and styles of teaching. I have attended classes and workshops in Iyengar, Hatha, Raja, Ashtanga and most recently in Zen yoga. I have found that at different times in my life I have been drawn to adapt my practice to support my journey through the everyday challenges that life presents me.

I have had the opportunity to work with many great teachers from different yoga traditions. Although a large part of my training has been in Iyengar Yoga, I find that I enjoy teaching classes that draw on a combination of all of my experience.

I have gained a yoga alliance 200 hour teacher training qualification taught by Zen Master Julian Daizan Skinner, founder of the Zenways Yoga School based in London. Through this training I gained a deep insight into myself and my yoga practice. I was given the opportunity to experiment with yoga in a way not usually taught in this country. Daizan shared some amazing techniques and insights from Indian, Chinese and Japanese Yoga traditions.

I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with others and I look forward to welcoming you to a yoga class soon.
